Transverse flux motors (TFM) from Tirron

Tirron-Elektronik GmbH has registered several patents in the field of transversal flux guidance (transversal flux motors) since the early 2000s. These include:

  • DE102006038576B4: High-pole, permanent-magnet synchronous motor with transverse flux guidance - characterized by high torque with low mass inertia .
  • DE102009004474B4: Transverse flux machine with disk-shaped rotors.

Transverse flux motors decouple the copper and iron cross-sections in the stator, thus enabling a high number of poles and achieving three-dimensional magnetic flux guidance. This topology leads to:

  • High torque at low speeds
  • Compact design and low inertia
